January Read

So... last month's meeting wasn't exactly a raging success, but who can blame us, it is the holiday season and there is a lot to do and think about. I really liked our holiday book, The Autobiography of Santa Claus, and encourage everyone to read it - and read it to your kids if they are old enough. I enjoyed learning and re-learning the meaning of many of the symbols of Christmas.

Heather has suggested this month's reading be "The Alchemist" by Paul Coelho. There are several copies at the Frisco library. Next month's meeting is yet to be determined. Happy reading!

Holiday Read

Thanks to everyone who came to our meeting last night! It was very fun to chat about The Thirteenth Tale and also about other favorite books. I want to get all of your recommendations down, so PLEASE leave a comment naming some good books you've read so that we'll all have some ideas in addition to our monthly read. This month it is Chelsea's pick, The Autobiography of Santa Claus, by Jeff Guinn.
We will tentatively set a date for the next meeting on the 3rd Tuesday again, November 17. I know the holidays are coming up, so if that date's not good for you, let me know and if a few of us can't make it we can reschedule.

October Reading

Thanks to those who came out to the first meeting of the Frisco 3rd Book Club this month! Joette contributed this month's pick which is The Thirteenth Tale, by Diane Setterfield. Our next meeting to discuss this book will be Tuesday, October 20. Everyone is welcome to come to the meeting, even if you couldn't make it last time.

Also, anyone is welcome to make comments on this blog about the book, especially if you won't be able to join us for the meeting. I would really love to hear thoughts and ideas from people who have read the book. I will always be updating the site with new books and announcements, so you can always keep up even if you can't make it to every get together. Hopefully this year we'll be able to talk about a lot of interesting books and the club will motivate us to keep reading.
